ABOUT
Boris Richir, originally from Antwerp, Belgium, received his dance education at the Paris Opera
Ballet School.

He started his professional career in 2009 when he joined the Semperoper Ballet in Dresden,
Germany, followed by the Boston Ballet, USA in 2014. In 2017 he became a freelance guest
artist for various companies.
​
Boris Richir has performed soloist and lead roles in a wide repertoire ranging from The
Nutcracker to contemporary pieces such as the ballets of W. Forsythe.
He has performed around the world on stages such as the Palais Garnier in Paris, The Bunka
Kaikan Theatre in Tokyo, the Boston Opera House, The Saxon State Opera House in Dresden,
and the Emirates Palace in Abu-Dhabi.

Boris Richir appears in the 2012 filming of The Nutcracker of the Semperoper Ballet Dresden by
ARTE as well as the 2014 New Years broadcast on German national TV, ZDF.

In 2012 he became assistant director of ART of Ballet Courses and masterclasses where he is
responsible for the organization of high level dance summer courses across Europe.
​
He is a sought after guest teacher and ballet master and is part of the faculty at the Brookline
Ballet School where he teaches the upper levels.
​
In 2017 he founded United Dance, a company providing dance education to specialized
populations in Europe and North America.
Education
Paris Opera Ballet School
Boris Richir graduated from the Paris Opera Ballet School, widely considered as one of the best ballet schools in the world. He obtained his Baccalauréat in literature with "Mention Bien" and his "Unités de Valeurs" in Dance History, Solfège, and Anatomy.
Dance Career
Paris Opera Ballet
While being a student at the Paris Opera Ballet School, Boris Richir performed numerous times on the Palais Garnier Stage with the Paris Opera Ballet School and later with the Paris Opera Ballet.
Semperoper Ballet
Boris Richir danced the bulk of his career with the Semperoper Ballet Dresden, Germany. He danced many soloist roles in a wide repertoire ranging from The Nutcracker to W. Forsythe's Artifact.
Boston Ballet
Boris Richir joined the Boston Ballet in 2014. He performed in world premieres, classical and contemporary works, was active in their Education and Community Initiatives Department, and served on the Boston Ballet Board of Young Partners.
Leadership
United Dance
Boris Richir is the founder and director of United Dance, a non-profit offering dance educations to specialized populations. In only 5 years United Dance expanded to three continents and established partnerships with world leading cultural and medical organizations.
The performing company has been featured in front of sold out audiences in critically acclaimed commissioned works.
ART of Ballet Masterclasses
Boris Richir served as the assistant director of ARTof Ballet Masterclasses and courses where he oversaw the expansion and management of high level dance courses for pre-professional and professional dancers across four European locations.
Teaching
Adults & Professionals
Boris Richir teaches ballet classes as a guest teacher for professional dancers and companies. He also teaches regular adult open classes mainly in the greater Boston area. His classes focus on a straight forward approach of ballet with an emphasis on physical health, mental wellbeing and artistry.
Pre-Professional Students
Boris Richir is a sought after teacher for teenagers and young adults. His teaching style is based on the French technique infused with elements that will set up students for a healthy and thriving career.
His goal is to find solutions that will help every student to progress.
Specialized Dance Education
At United Dance, Boris Richir developed a unique dance curriculum making dance accessible, fun, and above all safe for individuals identifying as having a disability.
